Found what appears to be a horsefly/deerfly on my front door the other day. I braved getting up close to this little guy and was at about my minimum focal distance with the Canon 100mm USM Macro lens. He had fantastic compound eyes with brilliant green and brown stripes. Quite stunning actually.
This is 100% crop. No post processing other than some RAW adjustments.
